Sometime next year I'm going to hire a full time developer to make a new control panel for managing my web servers. Yeah, no offense to the staff who are actually trying to help though the history I've had with cPanel means that they're just going to do whatever they want like a high school science experiment with a substitute teacher. Don't test browsers, test rendering engines. Nothing in cPanel of WHM requires HTML or CSS requires anything more advanced than Internet Explorer 8 and nothing JavaScript related requires anything more advanced than Internet Explorer 9 however those browsers are now absolutely irrelevant beyond search engines being used to find the download pages for modern browsers. My web platform uses cutting edge technology only when it's viable and for all of the things I've ever programmed directly I've never seen anything relevant beyond fixing the GUI components of browsers to reference shadow DOM. The Otter browser uses the same rendering engine as Safari 10.0 which is the lowest Safari equivalent my platform supports: My primary browser is Waterfox Classic which uses Gecko 56 fork, my platform supports Gecko 48+ I exclusively use Firefox, as many users do, and haven't experienced issues. Pretty sure it won't change anything, but I took my own unpaid time to express it on here just in case.įor what it's worth, I haven't heard of issues with browser compatibility until just now. Would really like an option to go back to the old template. It's so minimalist and drab that it makes me think the designer was fired to save costs and that the programmer now has two jobs but is being paid only for one, which is kind of insulting, given the price hijacks we've been eating over the last year. Everything looks so sad and the few remaining icons in the main page bodies are in B&W except for a seemingly random touch of orange on each one of them. I would also appreciate if WHM didn't force me to use this and let me go back to the old template.Įverything I look for in WHM now takes twice to thrice as long, because I'm facing a WALL OF MONOTONE TEXT instead of colorful icons. We still account for something in the usage stats. I don't use mobile to manage the server and I would appreciate if desktop users were not ignored. After 2 months, I still don't appreciate it and I still don't understand how this makeover is an upgrade over the previous template. I've been using WHM 102.0 for almost 2 months now and I took the time to familiarize and understand the changes before criticizing the graphic overhaul.
